The dzong at Punakha is considered one of the finest examples of Bhutanese architecture at its most grandeur form. The ancient capital of Bhutan and the winter residence of the central monastic community, Punakha tshechu is held in early March to mark the onset of Spring in the valley. One unique feature of the festival is a performance by the pazaps ot the ancient warriors.  The dance of the Pazaps is a celebration of our ancient heritage and a mark of victory over the Tibetans.
