  • Stop over at Trongsa, the bastion of medieval power exemplified by a castle-fortress that straddles an entire mound that rises from the basin of the roaring Mange river down below.
  • Step into the “Valley of a Thousand Plains” – Bumthang – where the past meets the present through numerous monasteries and sacred places that stand guard over a landscape that is increasing dotted with the hallmarks of modern development. Go to the “Burning Lake” and get to hear an incredible narrative of the exploits of a 15th century saint.
